Grillo Demo

Grillo Demo's paintings are exhibited around the world, housed in important art collections, and found in the homes of the rich and famous. So beautiful are Demo's paintings that it is no wonder that A-listers such as Madonna, Kate Moss, Elle McPherson and Jade Jagger all have Demo paintings in their homes.

Born in a small village in Argentina, Demo has travelled the world, but since 1978 he has resided in the balearic idyll of Ibiza. It is there that Demo creates his art, and most famously his falling jasmine paintings. Jasmine flowers (Demo's favourite) cascade over images of the Madonna, the Christ child and crucifixes. It is not just on religious iconography though that Demo depicts his jasmine flowers - he has used his recognizable flower on many portraits. Most recently he created a portrait of French Vogue Editor in Chief, Carine Roitfeld, as a gift from fashion photographer Mario Testino - of course Roitfeld is surrounded by jasmine!.

Demo is currently working on new commissions in Ibiza, but with The Canvas Works he will be able to bring limited edition giclee canvas prints of some of his beautiful original paintings to an Irish audience.
